Multitasking department

Mina Yamada

There are four main tasks for multitasking: front desk, Nakai, customer service at the rooftop bar, and reservation work. There are many things to remember, but you can try new things.Actually, I was not good at making reservations.I'm not good at calling.I wasn't confident in the answers because the intonation was different. That was an experience. Now I can make suggestions as well as answers.

Longing for the Japanese world
From aspiring hotels to inns.

I got a job at "Aburaya Tosen" as a new graduate from Miyazaki prefecture.Ever since I experienced matcha when I was little, I have loved the Japanese world, including small items such as hairpins.I vaguely thought that I wanted to work in kimono or something like that. After graduating from high school, I attended a vocational school in a hotel, and at first I was thinking of entering a hotel. However, when I heard about the inn at the company information session, I thought, "Oh, I like Japanese," and from there I changed to aspiring to be an inn.
Kanagawa and Hakone inns were also candidates, but one of the reasons for choosing "Aburaya Tosen" is that there is "multitasking".I didn't know which job I was in, whether it was a Nakai or a front desk, so I wish I had a department that could do various things (laughs).I was also impressed by the challenging attitude I heard at the company information session.I also like to challenge.I'm worried that I have no experience, but I would like to try it if possible.I have that kind of personality.

Not to mention the landlady and seniors
There are many places to learn such as workshops.

The ryokan is, after all, a "lady".To be honest, before I joined the company, I thought, "I think the landlady is scary."That was a concern, but when I actually went in, it wasn't that strict (laughs). It was entertaining and reassuring.I was also taught how to wear kimono and etiquette, and I was happy to know it deeply because it was a world I was originally interested in.After receiving training sessions by inviting outside lecturers and advice from seniors, I am now able to teach juniors.

The dream of the future is "the landlady"! Impress customers with just the manners.

Customers who come to "Aburaya Tosen" want to please not only themselves but also those who are accompanied.Proposals for that are also an important task for us.For example, we recommend cakes and bouquets to customers with festive plans.Introducing dishes using delicious ingredients from Nagano. We also propose rooms with an open-air bath to those with a standard plan. Are you really satisfied with the contents of the plan?Customers don't even know it.Our job is to provide the best hospitality. With various proposals, we would like to deliver a time that will satisfy our customers.
I want to become a landlady in the future.I want to be a person who can impress customers with just the manners.Japanese culture is getting thinner and thinner in Japan, isn't it?However, I would like to be able to provide such customer service so that you can feel that "it's so amazing in harmony" just by looking at it without explaining it.

how to spend the holidays

I love hot springs and Japanese food, and I especially want to eat hot spring manju on a regular basis.I take a walk to the nearby Shibu Onsen to buy hot spring manju, or go to a hot spring manju shop near the hotel.I went to Kyoto the other day, but there was no hot spring manju (laughs). But it was fun to be able to make Japanese sweets and experience matcha.Matcha is also available at home, so I sometimes enjoy it myself.I also love Japanese accessories and shrines and temples.
